EWS Red 37298 stands at Wigan CRDC awaiting parts recovery and final scrapping.

37298 (the former D6998) was one of the locomotives used on the EWS hire contract in France. Whilst in use in France 37298 was sidelined with a defective aux generator and used as a source of spares before being returned to the UK. Upon return to the UK 37298 moved directly to the CRDC and was ultimately scrapped at Booths Rotherham in 2006.
