ADRC 96707 Bury MPD Breakdown Crane - ELR - Night Shunter Gala 28-08-2007

Built in 1960 for BR(W) Cowans Sheldon 76T diesel hydraulic, No ADRC 96707 powered by a V6 2 stroke supercharged 427cu Detroit diesel producing 250 Bhp, it was converted from a steam crane in 1975. Saved from the scrapman by Roger Johnstone who sold it on to Riley and sons(E) who then passed it on the ELR
It one of 3 based at Eastleigh MPD its sister ADRC 96706 went to the Churnet Valley railway, unfortunately it was cut up in 2010. The 3rd was cut up on site at Eastleigh.
