47402's "GATESHEAD" Nameplate - Ramsbottom Station - Bury - ELR Diesel Gala 08-07-2006
"Generator" 47402 spent much of its mainline working career allocated to Gateshead TMD. The Plate below Reads "This engine was renamed on 6th June 1993 by bob Brown the longest serving fitter at Gateshead who named the original and by Don McNab who along with his workmates at Immingham kept and looked after this engine in their own time enabling it to come into preservation.
This plaque serves as a testimonial to the loyal breed of railwaymen who still carry out their jobs with pride and enthusiasm"
